  1. Hello there! What is your name? (I can’t find it in your profile section – you should add it!) Thank you so much for your recommendations. I’m interested in making a dinner reservation at one of the places you recommended, preferably Kyoryori Fujimoto/京料理 藤本, but open to your other recommendations as well. Do you know how far in advance do I need to call for a phone reservation (for dinner)?

    1. Dear Mel,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

Oh,sorry.I’m Keiko.I’ll add my name in my profile.
I contacted the restaurant, and I was told they are accepting reservations until Dec.31 2017.
Kyorryori Fujimoto is a hidden place. It’s a michelin star restaurant, but they offer a very nice Kaiseki dinner at a reasonable price.
The staff are very friendly and polite.
      I hope you like it.

      Keiko

  2. Dear Keiko,

Thanks for the refreshing recommendations 🙂 My family and I were looking for a nice place to dine in Kyoto when we visit in November. One of us have allergy to shellfishes but would still love to try Kaiseki cuisine. Do you know if you or anyone could help with making a reservation? If we do it from our hotel in Kyoto, it might be too last minute. Kyoryori Fujimoto/京料理 藤本 looks perfect!

    1. Dear Wendy,

Thank you for reading my blog.

I’m afraid I cant make a reservation, because I was once in a trouble when the reservation was cancelled.
      Please kindly understand it.

I think Hotel concierge can make a reservation in advance.
I used to work at hotel, and I made a reservation on behalf of the customers 3 months before their check-in date.

If not, you can make a reservation by phone.

I think they can speak English a little.
Show the staff “1人貝が食べられません”It means one of you cannot eat shellfishes.

      Kind regards,
      Keiko

      1. Dear Keiko,

No worries. That makes sense, I can understand.
We will take your advice and try the hotel first (possibly 2 or 3 months ahead).

If not, I will call the restaurant to try and make a reservation 🙂
        Thanks again, I appreciate it!

I am interested to visit Gion Takuma, may I kindly ask how early must I make reservations, especially during cherry blossom season?

    Thank you!

    1. Hi Xin-san,

Thank you so much for reading my blog.
I’m happy to hear you love reading my articles!

It’s better to reserve a table as soon as possible during cherry blossom season.

Reservations at Takuma can be made up to 1st day of 2 months in advance.
It means if you want to reserve a table on 1th of April, reservation can be made from 1st of Feb.
If you want to table on 15st of April, reservation can be also made from 1st of Feb.

      Kind regards,
      Keiko
