Da Yuki is a small restaurant that holds only about 16 seats.

Interior of the restaurant looks more like a Japanese setting with many of their seats located at the bar counter.

Yet, this small place serves one of the most authentic pizzas and antipasti.

The chef of Da Yuki is trained in Naples for many years, which is why their authentic dishes are even favored by the Italian.

2. Goichi Pizza/ゴイチ ピザ

This is an energetic Italian restaurant that can satisfy your craving for good “western food.”

With its funky exterior and modern looking interior, this small establishment attracts many foreigners as well as young professionals of Kyoto.

The owner and staff of the restaurant can speak good English and can provide their full menu in English.

Many reviewers and food bloggers praise about great conversations they had with the owner or his staff.

You can have a great selection of imported wine.

You can actually choose from a sampler which glass of wine you want to order.

3.Il Pappalardo/イル・パッパラルド

Il Pappalardo is a fine Italian dining establishment with a great selection of Pizzas.

They make fantastic pizzas in their wood fire oven, using the best of ingredients that they obtain from all over Japan as well as Italy.

Il Pappalardo’s dishes are known for a good cost performance.

Il Pappalardo offers great lunch sets, such as a set of a pizza and salad (at ¥1,800) or a lunch set inclusive of a antipasti, pizza, dolce, coffee/tea (at ¥2,800).

Their Provola Affumicata (margherita with smoked mozzarella) is to die for, and one of the popular items here.

It is a nice place to have a quiet lunch even on your solo travel.

You can see a beautiful temple nearby from the restaurant’s big windows.

They are located next to Four Seasons Hotel, across the street from Kyoto National Museum.

Outside seating will be a perfect place to sit and enjoy a freshly baked pizza this spring.

This is one branch of the famous restaurant chain owned by Salatore Cuomo who is one of the chefs who made Napoles pizza popular in Japan.

He now has many restaurants all over Japan as well as other countries.

Their thin crust pizzas are very popular among Japanese.

Quarto Formaggi with additional mushrooms or the simple margherita pizzas are a few of their popular items.

This season, don’t miss their spring lunch buffet, which is a great deal.

You can have all you can eat antipasti, salad, pizza, pasta, dolce.

Even if you add all you can soft drinks, it comes up to be around ¥1,500.

This is a great small Italian restaurant that is housed in machiya (traditional Japanese townhouse).

Their traditional looking exterior and interior are very nice to your eyes.

The restaurant building itself is picturesque.

The unique characteristics of their pizzas are their chewy dough and “Kyoto” vegetable toppings.

You can enjoy various Kyoto vegetables such as mushrooms, eggplants, lotus roots, onions on Pizza.

They have other unique pizzas such as fruit pizza where fruits are placed on pizza and baked in their wood fired oven.

Another great feature of Enboca is the long list of imported and craft beer on stock, from something dry to something sweet.
