1.Dotonbori Akaoni/赤鬼
There are many takoyaki restaurants in Dotonbori area, and I especially recommend Dotonbori Akaoni among them. There are two shops in dotonbori area.Dotonbori Akaoni is a Takoyaki restaurant that was awarded Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2016.
This shop was introduced by Japanese & international TV program many times.
They serve a variety of unique takoyaki dishes such as takoyaki soaked in a special soup, takoyaki with Kakigori(Kakigori is a Japanese summer desert made of shaved ice),and Takoyaki with melted cheese on top.
Takoyaki with Kakigori(summer special) is a really surprise for me, they created this dish so that customers can enjoy the takoyaki even in the summer.
The recommended item is Takoyaki with melted cheese on top.
You can enjoy the perfect harmony of fluffy takoyaki and melted cheese.
They believe fresh Octopus is the crucial factor of the takakoyaki, so they use raw octopus to make takoyaki whereas most of the takoyaki shops use the boiled one.
That makes their takoyaki specially tasty.

This is the Osaka style okonomiyaki, they mix everything together.It is always a long line of people in front of the restaurant.I recommend you to get “Yamaimo-yaki”which is soft and tasty. English speaking staff is available.

4.New Munchen(Karaage)
New Munchen was stablished in 1971.It has been loved by locals as one of the best Karaage(Japanese deep-flied chicken) restaurant in Osaka. Karaage here is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
The combination of Karaage and Beer is just perfect!! It’s a shame that Karaage in New Muhchen is not well known for foreign tourists.
There are 2 new munchen stores in Namba. One is restaurant, and the other is a store.Only Take out menu is available at Takashimaya department store in Namba.
