1.Mishimatei Main Shop/三嶋亭 本店Mishimatei Main Shop is known as one of the best sukiyaki restaurants in Kyoto.
It is very traditional restaurant with a long history which was first opened in 1873 and it has been loved by local people for a long time.
You will be warmly welcomed by many staff through the entrance into the room and the hostess prepare the meal for you.
Mishimatei offers four kinds of traditional Japanese beef dining: sukiyaki, shabu shabu ,oil yaki and hot pot with grated radish.
Their specialty is sukiyaki with Japanese black beef using their secret broth sauce passed down since it’s establishment.
The meat is incredibly soft and tender which melts in your mouth.
The setting and service is very traditional, and the private rooms have Japanese style tatami mats with low tables.

They offer a wide variety of dishes such as beef cutlet,Shrimp cream croquette and gyunabe lunch set (sukiyaki lunch set) during the lunch time.
The price is very reasonable between 700 and 2,500 yen.
You can enjoy a very big beef cutlet(about 30cm!) at 2,100 yen.
The sukiyaki and shabu shabu menu is available during the dinner time between 5,000 and 7,000yen.

It’ very reasonable, so you have to cook your sukiyaki meal on your own.

The sukiyaki is very tasty and beef is great too!
