Kamatake udon Kamatake Udon is a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant which serve the nice Osaka style Udon.

There is a long line at the entrance for those purchasing their tickets at the vending machine.

Udon are smooth and chewy, a large crispy chikuwa Tempura(a kind of fried fish paste)goes well with udon.

You can choose the portion of Udon from 300g,400g,and 800g.

I recommend you to try”Niku Bukkake Udon” which are warm udon with a lots of Kuroge Wagyu and an Egg tempura.

A soft boiled egg, and chewy udon noodles make for a amazing combination!

If you like Udon with tempura, you should try Kamatake Udon!

Udonya kisuke Udonya Kisuke is one of the popular Udon restaurants in Osaka.

There’s always a few people lined up at the entrance.

They have a variety of udon menus such as Agemochi bukkake udon(udon with deep fried rice cakes),tempura udon, and nikubukkake udon(Udon with a beef)

I tried “Nikukamatama udon”.

Nikukamatama udon is served with raw egg and meat.It will be more tasty if you put some soy sauce on it.

It’s true that udon here is very nice, but it’s almost the same taste as Marugame seimen Udon’s.(Do you know Marukame seimen udon? It is a big chain udon restaurant in Japan.)

Both udon are Sanuki-style udon, so no wonder the taste is quite similar.

Udonya kisuke is located in the area called Nakazaki-cho which is 15 minutes walk from Umeda station.

I would recommend to try udon here if you are in the neighborhood.

Tsurutontan Tsurutontan Soemoncho is located between Namba and Nipponbashi,the most popular sightseeing spots in Osaka.

Tsurutontan is a trendy udon chain restaurant that provide more than 70 kinds of udon and food dishes.

They provide very unique udon such as a creamy crab udon noodle soup,curry Shank udon, and Mentaiko udon(seasoned cod roe udon).

You can choose the udon type:thick or thin.

The udon is very nice,the broth is savory, and the tempura is so crispy and tasty.

They have an English menu and the staff are very friendly.They can speak english, so they’ll explain the menu to you if you ask for.

Shinanosoba Shinanosoba is located in the center of Namba area,close to Namba Grand Kagetsu Theater.

You might think this is soba restaurant because the restaurant’s name is”Shinano soba”,however they serve the best udon too.

Yoshimoto shinkigeki comedians love the udon here and they are frequent customers of this restaurant.

The restaurant is very old which is packed with local people and there is no English menu・・・.

But don’t hesitate to go into the restaurant!(Actually I hesitated to go into there because the restaurant looked so old:)

They provide 109 kinds of dishes. I’ve never been to the restaurant which has so many different kinds of dishes.

The must-eat dish here is”Niku Udon(Udon Noodle Soup with Meat)”

Niku Udon is best enjoyed with a great harmony of broth, meat,and abura age(deep‐fried tofu).

The broth is very tasty that you can drink to the last drop.

I highly recommend to go to Shinano soba if you want to know what is the soul food for people in Osaka.
