2.Gion Kiharu/祇園きはる

Located in the romantic geisha district of Gion, Kiharu offers rental of elegant kimono for various scenes.

The rental plan ranges between ¥5,300 – ¥16,200 and will depend on the types of kimono you will choose, all of which will be accompanied with one souvenir photo card.

They also have an affordable couple plan for ¥13,400.

The shop also rents for the prenup photo-shoots of the Japanese wedding.

3.Yume Kyoto Gion/夢京都 祇園

Yume Kyoto Gion is located right next to Yasaka Shrine.

From this shop, you can visit major tourist spots near the shrine and the Gion area conveniently in kimono.

You can choose a rental plan of your choice fitting to your needs, ranging from ¥3,000 to ¥8,000, depending on the type and variations of kimono and accessories to choose from.

They also offer various options of returning your kimono. 

You can return it to the shop by 6pm, or with an additional fee you can leave your kimono at the hotel front desk, where the staff will also deliver your luggage they kept for you while you stroll.

4.Rental Kimono OKAMOTO Gion Shop/レンタル着物岡本 祇園店

Okamoto is one of the long living, esteemed shops in Kyoto established 180 years ago.

It is also one of the first shops that started renting kimono for tourists in Kyoto.

They have 1 head shop and 5 branches all located in strategic tourist spots.

There are two branches located within one minute of Kiyomizu temple.

There are a beautiful machiya (traditional townhouse) style shop overlooking Yasaka shine, and another traditional looking beautiful shop right in front of Kodai-ji temple (Gion branch) are the two closest to Gion area.

Their popularity is understandable considering that their kimono rental set ranges from ¥3,000 to ¥5,000 and comes with an option of returning your kimono the following day without any additional fees.

You can also get your beautiful hair done only for ¥500.

They have various unique plans for your rental needs.

The basic plan starts at ¥3,000, and the couple plan is extremely reasonable at ¥5,500, which can give you a perfect date setting for you and your loved one.

Gion-ya has a unique time service of rental kimono at ¥1,800 for a rental after 3pm which will be perfect for those looking for a sunset stroll.
